Hands-on training includes – wiring switches, GFCI receptacles, duplex receptacles, panels, 3-way and 4-way switches, bending EMT, and rigid conduit. Training covers: Basic electrical theory, electrical code, blueprints, and tool safety. Construction site education, safety, and carpenter expectations are also covered. Using skills learned in class, participants build the following projects: a foot stool and a set of stairs to a platform. This class is open for grades 9-12 but is most appropriate for juniors and seniors. They receive a National Emergency Communications Certification (NECC) level 1 Telecommunicator certificate, a Heart Saver 1st Aid CPR AED for adult, child, and infant card, and entry level Incident Command Systems (ICS 100,200) certification. Students learn how to dispatch emergency calls for EMS, Fire, and Police. Students need to be turning 18 years old within 1 year of finishing the course.Įmergency Communications is an entry level 911 Dispatch course. They also get the 2nd level of Incident Command Systems (ICS 200) certificate. They receive a professional Basic Life Support (BLS) card, an EMT 1 Card, and the opportunity to test for their National EMT Basic card. Students learn to assess and do basic treatments for medical and trauma patients. Complete of this course will give students a vast array of knowledge which will help then secure an entry level position in veterinary medicine.Įmergency Trauma Technician (ETT) is where students learn to be 1st responders to trauma and medical emergencies. Veterinary Assistants assist in a Veterinary office in a variety of ways including restraint and handling of a variety of species, veterinary career exploration, surgical assisting skills, instrument identification, and animal nutrition. ![]() The Veterinary Assistant course introduces students to careers in Veterinary Science. Assistants greatly increase the productivity of a medical office and are valuable members of the healthcare community. The Medical Assistant course prepares students to assist doctors with clinical and administrative duties. Assistants greatly increase the efficiency of the dentist in the delivery of oral health care and are valuable members of a dental care team. The Dental Assistant program prepares students to become skilled members of a dental health care team. Hands-on training will be coupled with formal learning to maximize career preparation. Customer service, effective communication, office teamwork, professional confidentiality, and technical skills that aid in the service of these professions will be of primary importance. Students will meet practicing professionals from these professions and learn all the prerequisites for adding value to these occupations. Human Services introduces students to the assisting skills of the dentistry, veterinary, and medical industries.
